Trump Approval Rating NC: Worst on Record in New Poll
The trump approval rating nc numbers hit a new low this week: a Carolina Forward survey released Oct. 13 found 41% of North Carolina likely voters approve of President Donald Trump’s job performance while 58% disapprove, a net rating of minus 17 points — the worst he has recorded in the poll since taking office.
The survey of 829 North Carolina likely voters put Trump’s approval at its lowest point in the organization’s tracking. Carolina Forward noted that the figures marked his worst on record in its polling since he became president.
41% Approve, 58% Disapprove
North Carolina is one of the few genuine swing states, and its numbers matter ahead of the Nov. 3 midterms, when the state will help decide control of the Senate and several competitive House seats. A net rating of minus 17 points puts Trump underwater even in a state he carried in each of his presidential runs.
The state-level result lands against a backdrop of consistently weak national numbers for the president across multiple pollsters in recent weeks.
National Polls Tell a Similar Story
Recent national surveys have shown Trump at or near career lows. An AP-NORC poll put his approval at 35% with 64% disapproving, for a net rating of minus 29 points. A Pew Research Center survey found 30% approval against 68% disapproval, a net of minus 38. Reuters/Ipsos measured 32% approval and 65% disapproval, a net of minus 33 points.
The Carolina Forward numbers fit that pattern — but with a regional twist: the minus-17 net in North Carolina is substantially better than Trump’s national standing, yet still his weakest showing there in the poll’s history, in a state Republicans need to win to keep their congressional majorities.
