Talarico Texas Tour: Final Pitch as Early Voting Opens
The Talarico Texas tour kicked off as early voting opened statewide, with Democrat James Talarico making his final pitch to North Texas voters in a Senate race polls show is running neck-and-neck.
Talarico is holding rallies in Plano, Denton and Fort Worth as part of a statewide swing through Texas, according to FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth, which reported the candidate is making his final arguments ahead of early voting.
Early Voting Runs Through Oct. 30
Early voting in Texas runs from Monday, Oct. 19, through Friday, Oct. 30, ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Talarico faces Republican Ken Paxton for the U.S. Senate seat long held by John Cornyn.
A Dead-Heat Race
Polling has shown the contest is a dead heat, with an Oct. 3 Siena College poll giving Talarico a 51%-45% edge among likely voters. The Cook Political Report rates the race a toss-up, making it one of the most closely watched Senate contests of the midterms.
