Cindy Crawford Tribute to Son Presley: Heartbroken
The cindy crawford tribute fans had been waiting for arrived Sunday, nearly a month after the supermodel lost her son. Crawford posted a family statement to Instagram honoring Presley Walker Gerber, who died September 20 at 27, alongside a black-and-white photo of him smiling and holding a pair of feathery angel wings.
A Family’s First Public Words
“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” the statement reads, signed by Crawford, her husband Rande Gerber, and daughter Kaia. “We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever.” The family praised how Presley “showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability,” thanked the public for an outpouring of support, and closed: “Til we meet again our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia.”
The September 20 Death
Presley was found dead at a rehabilitation facility near Santa Monica on September 20. Santa Monica police said officers responded that morning to a report of a possible overdose and found him deceased; detectives are treating the death as a suspected overdose, with no indication of foul play. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet confirmed an official cause of death. Presley had spoken openly in recent years about his struggles with addiction and mental health. The Gerbers’ only son, he followed his mother into modeling as a teenager — signing with IMG at 15, walking for Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Burberry, and Calvin Klein, and appearing with Crawford in a 2018 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial.
Kaia’s Own Tribute
Model and actress Kaia Gerber, 25, posted her own tribute Sunday: a childhood video of herself with her big brother, captioned, “I love you the bluest, to the moon and back and back again, forever big brother.” Weeks before Presley’s death, Kaia had spoken publicly about the toll her brother’s addiction struggles had taken on the family.
