White House GTA 6 Meme: Trump, Tesla Flying Car Go Viral
The white house gta 6 meme turned politics into pop culture this weekend. The official White House account posted an AI-generated image on X of President Donald Trump walking beside a futuristic hovering car with thrusters, Marine One flying overhead, and “Make America Great Again” rendered in Grand Theft Auto’s signature lettering. The caption: “We really got flying cars before GTA 6.”
The Tesla Demo Behind the Joke
The post landed just a day after Elon Musk unveiled the new Tesla Roadster at SpaceX’s rocket-testing facility in McGregor, Texas. During the demonstration, the car performed autonomous stunts that stunned spectators — climbing a nearly vertical ramp, driving upside down, soaring over a line of Tesla vehicles and completing a mid-air spin dubbed the “kick flip” by Tesla’s vice president of engineering, Lars Moravy. Musk later claimed the Roadster could reach roughly 400 miles per hour.
The joke carries a double irony, though: the long-delayed Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, while the flying Roadster isn’t expected to reach customers before 2028 — and its flight capabilities, powered by SpaceX cold-gas thruster technology, are not approved for public road use.
Trump’s Praise for Musk
Trump weighed in on the spectacle when a Fox News reporter asked about it, saying he was “very happy for Elon” and calling the car “very impressive,” while adding he wasn’t sure people would see him inside one. The praise came just a week after Trump presented Musk with the National Medal of Science at a White House summit, calling him a “national treasure” and comparing him to Thomas Edison.
Rockstar Games has not commented on the White House’s use of its franchise’s imagery. The administration has leaned on pop-culture posts before — from Mario and Naruto memes that drew pushback from Japan to a March video blending footage of military strikes on Iran with clips from Top Gun and Halo.
