Trump Dalton Rally: Schools, Roads Close for Friday Visit

The Trump Dalton rally has the north Georgia city preparing for major disruptions, with schools, roads and parking around Dalton Municipal Airport set to close Friday ahead of the president’s midterm campaign stop.

The rally is scheduled for Friday, October 16, at Dalton Municipal Airport. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., the program begins at 1:30 p.m., and President Trump is expected to speak at about 3 p.m.

Airport Road Closed, Parking Restricted

A portion of Airport Road will be closed through the Murray County line during the visit, and parking will not be allowed along Airport Road, with vehicles subject to towing, according to local reports. Residents have been told to expect traffic restrictions around the venue and to prepare for longer walks to the rally site.

Third Georgia Visit of 2026

Trump is expected to campaign alongside Republican Senate nominee Mike Collins and gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson, with Rep. Clay Fuller also set to appear. The stop marks the president’s third visit to Georgia this year, following a February trip to Rome and a July rally in Marietta.

Whitfield County, home to Dalton and its roughly 35,000 residents, is a deep-red stronghold that backed Fuller in an April special election. Early voting in Georgia is underway ahead of the November 3 general election.
