Trump Sioux City Rally: Oct. 22 Iowa Midterm Push
The Trump Sioux City rally is set for Thursday, Oct. 22, as President Donald Trump brings his campaign sprint to Iowa with a rally at the Sioux Gateway Airport.
A Republican National Committee official said doors will open at 2:30 p.m., speakers begin at 4:30 p.m., and Trump is set to take the stage at 6 p.m. Attendees can register through the rally’s ticketing site, though an exact venue within the airport grounds had not been published.
A Two-Stop Iowa Swing
Trump announced the visit himself on Truth Social last week, saying he was coming to Iowa “to get truly fantastic Warriors elected.” He confirmed two pre-election rallies in the state: the Oct. 22 stop in Sioux City and a second rally on Nov. 1, whose location has not yet been announced.
Republican Party of Iowa Chair Jeff Kaufmann first revealed the plan after a phone call with the president. “He told me that he will be in Iowa on October 22 and November 1,” Kaufmann posted. “He is anxious for Iowans to hear his message before they vote.”
Trump listed the candidates he aims to boost: Republican U.S. Senate nominee Ashley Hinson, governor nominee Zach Lahn, and all four of Iowa’s Republican congressional candidates — Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Joe Mitchell, Zach Nunn, and Chris McGowan.
Part of a Seven-State Sprint
The Iowa stop is one leg of a seven-rally, seven-state swing Trump is running in the final weeks before the Nov. 3 midterm elections. The schedule kicked off Oct. 19 in Wichita, Kansas, and carries the president through North Carolina, South Carolina, Iowa, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan.
Trump said in September that he would storm the country in the final stretch to support vulnerable Republican candidates, targeting about 35 races in roughly 30 days. The party is counting on high-turnout events in tight contests to hold control of Congress, and Iowa has become a key battleground despite the state voting heavily for Trump in 2024.
