Verizon iPhone Handoff: $10 Monthly Fee Confirmed

Verizon confirmed it will charge iPhone Handoff users $10 per month, making it the priciest U.S. carrier option for Apple’s new iOS 27 feature. The pricing was announced Friday alongside Verizon’s iPhone Duo launch, and the feature will work with the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro models running iOS 27.

iPhone Handoff lets a single phone number be shared across two separate iPhones. Users can switch which device is active at any time — handy for pairing a pocketable secondary phone with a full-size daily driver — though the number can only be active on one iPhone at a time.

How Carrier Prices Compare

Verizon’s $10 monthly fee is twice what T-Mobile charges for the same feature. T-Mobile, which already supports iPhone Handoff, set its price at $5 per month. In Europe, Deutsche Telekom folds the feature into its existing MultiSIM service at €6.95 per month — free for MagentaMobil L and XL customers — while the U.K.’s EE offers it free on Full Works Plus plans or £5 per month otherwise.

AT&T, the third major U.S. carrier, has suggested it has no imminent plans to support iPhone Handoff, saying instead it remains focused on its existing eSIM activation and transfer tools.

Availability

Verizon says support for the feature is “coming soon,” and Apple previously said the carrier would adopt it before the end of the year. The feature was first previewed at WWDC and detailed further at Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event last month.

Verizon began taking pre-orders for the iPhone Duo — Apple’s first foldable iPhone, with a 7.6-inch inner display — on Friday, October 16. The device hits stores on October 23 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
