Trump Fort Myers Rally Set for October 23 in Florida
The Trump Fort Myers rally is officially on the calendar for Friday, October 23, with President Donald Trump set to headline a midterm rally in southwest Florida less than three weeks before Election Day.
The announcement came from the Trump 47 Committee, one of Trump’s fundraising groups, according to the Fort Myers News-Press. A venue has not yet been named. The rally is set in Fort Myers, which sits inside the 19th Congressional District represented by gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds.
A Lift for Byron Donalds’ Governor Bid
Trump was an early and enthusiastic supporter of Donalds’ run for governor, publicly urging the Naples congressman to enter the race before Donalds formally announced his candidacy. The visit arrives as some observers see a tight contest between Donalds and Democrat David Jolly for Florida’s governorship.
Collier County GOP Chairman John Meo welcomed the timing, saying it was good news for Donalds’ campaign with the election approaching.
Timing: Early Voting Opens the Next Day
The rally lands one day before early voting begins in Florida on October 24, while vote-by-mail is already underway. Attendance will be limited to those who RSVP, with four tickets available per signup, spokeswoman Caroline Courtney said. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., the program begins at 12:30 p.m., and remarks are scheduled for 2 p.m.
Florida voters will also weigh in on other marquee races, including the U.S. Senate contest between incumbent Ashley Moody and Democratic challenger Angie Nixon, and the newly redrawn 22nd Congressional District race between Republican Casey Askar and Democrat Pia Dandiya.
