Ilhan Omar Husband: Snaps Over Rumors She Fled the US

The ilhan omar husband saga continued this week as Tim Mynett, the congresswoman’s husband, was confronted about swirling rumors that Rep. Ilhan Omar had fled the country following a federal raid on their Washington home.

Mynett has not been seen publicly alongside Omar since Homeland Security Investigations agents searched the couple’s D.C. residence on Monday as part of a criminal fraud investigation into the congresswoman’s immigration paperwork. But the political consultant has been spotted emerging from the couple’s shared rental home this week.

A Raid, Then Rumors

On Wednesday, Mynett was seen stepping out into the neighborhood to walk the family’s golden Labrador, Teddy, later taking out the trash and walking out one of Omar’s staffers. When asked whether rumors that the congresswoman had left the country were true, he deflected: “You guys are annoying the hell out of all the neighbors around here, man,” he told Fox News Digital.

A congressional staffer was also seen bringing two large fast-food bags into the home, escorted by security. The raid, first reported by Fox News Digital, was carried out under a judicially authorized search warrant. Agents reportedly seized Omar’s cellphone and passport. The investigation is said to center on immigration paperwork completed by Omar’s late father when she was a child, and no charges have been filed.

Trump Weighs In

President Donald Trump waded into the story on Tuesday, posting on Truth Social to question how the couple could afford their Washington home and revisiting Omar’s reported net worth. He pointed to her disclosure of up to $30 million before she amended it to around $100,000, calling the discrepancy suspicious and suggesting her accountant may have reported money from what he claimed were fraudulent activities in Minnesota. Omar has dismissed the filing as an accounting error.
